No, You Can't Make Me.

I am not takin' down my damn Christmas tree! Why is everyone in such a rush to to do so? We see all our neighbors' trees out in the alley like abandond Velveteen Rabbits. It's very dismaying. First of all, it's the 12 days of Christmas, not one. And then, well, we only got ours a week before Christmas Day. I want to enjoy it until it's at least past its prime. We have so many cool ornaments that I like to look at, and we got new ones this year. Like this one that W. got us, an original Star Trek communicator. It is the coolest ever ornament. Not only does it make that sound when you open the cover, there are buttons inside that when you push them play literally dozens of different audio snippets from the original Star Trek. It's too fun. Now, don't ask me what that has to do with the baby Jesus. But it does have a lot to do with joy and family. So there. The tree is a Frasier Fir, beautiful and fragrant, and it's still sucking up water. So we're not going to take it down. Maybe before Valentine's Day. We'll see.
